ARTIST STATEMENT
I am an acrylic painter whose practice is rooted in the joy of observation and in
capturing the vibrant colors of the natural world along the New Hampshire seacoast.
Recently, I’ve rekindled my love of collage, and have been adding bits of wallpaper,
sheet music, and pages from old art and poetry books to my work. Finding that
perfect balance between paint, words and paper is both a thrill and a challenge.
My work celebrates the regional landscape, colorful florals and the whimsical dynamics
of local wildlife. Intrigued by the antics of the turkeys, bunnies and gulls near my
home, I often add their imagined conversations to my paintings, creating allegorical
humor to explore a human narrative. So fun!
